What if we could remediate all the lead contamination around Boston’s Emerald Necklace?

Franklin Park is home to Boston Parks Department’s maintanence hub - meaning the destination for all of the city’s compost. Burying contaminated land with compost is the latest, safest soil remediation strategy and the neighborhoods surrounding Franklin Park are some of the most contaminated within the Boston metroplex.

The Park would serve as a compost farm and utilize the bus infrastructure as distribution to participants. Within 10 years, 40 city blocks could benefit from this soil remediation strategy.
